Grand Central Romance – Margaret and Zack

February 4, 2017

Galloping toward the finish

It’s no more horsing around for Margaret and Zack, who plan to wed this July in New Jersey. First meeting at the 2009 Kentucky Derby while students in Louisville, their romance became a race as well, flitting through several states between grad school and careers. Things slowed to a trot in 2015, when Margaret joined Zack in Atlanta, and they announced their engagement during last year’s Derby festivities. Seeing their joy during our shoot at NYC’s Grand Central, we’ll place our bets on their happily ever after.

October Nuptials – Laura and Dan

September 28, 2016

In a just a few short weeks this beautiful couple will tie the knot at a ceremony at the Tarrytown House.  We were so pleased to receive this note of praise from the bride’s mom, Joanne.

“Hi Margaret, I wanted to share with you how pleased we are that Laura chose you to do the photography for her wedding.  Her engagement photos are amazing. You took such time and care to get the right poses at a venue she loves.  I’ve watched you in action at so many events and you always take such care to make sure everyone in the photo looks just right.  You take the time to get to know the people you are photographing and always seem to capture the spirit and sparkle of the moment. You are responsive to every inquiry and the photos are delivered in a timely manner. We look forward to the wedding photos in October!”

We look forward to photographing their wedding day too!

Romantic Photo Session, Rockefeller Preserve

Trinidad & David – Coffee stirs things up

When David first posed the question “coffee, tea or me?” on a coffee line, Trinidad chose coffee. When he tried again two weeks later, she succumbed. On their first date, a stroll at Westchester’s Kensico Dam, they bonded over more than lattes. That coffee line was at Morgan Stanley, where they both worked, and soon their merger begot a new acquisition: romance! It took 10 years, but this summer, the contract becomes final. At their July wedding, we’re sure they’ll switch out coffee for champagne.

Tarrytown, NY Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Clear skies ahead – Ivona & Tony

A rainy forecast means luck for droughts, deserts, and one specific couple. Three of Ivona and Tony’s milestones were drenched: their first Manhattan roof-top garden meeting, their one-year anniversary at that same romantic spot, and this summer’s pre-wedding photo shoot in Tarrytown. Ivona’s eyes may have gotten wet when Tony proposed at that anniversary dinner, but not Tony’s knee–  it was pouring! The kneeling  tradition was postponed ’til another day, though next to a flat tire instead of a rooftop garden! Whatever works, we say. And by the way, the only waterworks on their July 4th Beacon wedding will be tears of joy.

Tarrytown, NY Engagement Photo Session

Stephanie & Keith – Beneath a tree, love blooms

The Rockefeller Center tree is a tradition, and it became Stephanie and Keith’s too. They saw it the first year they dated, and the next two after that. That third time, while the lights twinkled on the tree, a diamond twinkled from Keith’s pocket. Now that’s what we call a happy holiday! Stephanie shouldn’t have been too shocked–  threes had been lucky for them before. They’d been dating almost three years, and their first dates were three in a row. It all started with dinner, when they talked until the restaurant closed for the night. We’re romantics, so we like to think it was about 3 a.m.!

Cassidy &  Jared – Crushes to Candles

It started with Cassidy’s college crush, and ended with Jared’s candlelight proposal. In between were 12 years, seven states, and one pact that said if they weren’t married by the time she turned 30, they’d wed. Well, she’s 30, and thanks to his Facebook contact, they’ll be wedded in June at Larchmont Temple. They should pop some seltzer along with champagne, since Jared’s request that she run out for seltzer was his ruse for setting their apartment aglow with candles and a diamond ring. Now that’s the kind of errand we’d all like more of!

Kristin and Bryan

May 3, 2015

Stormy Weather to Sunny Skies

Candlelit rooms are usually an indulgence, not a necessity, but it worked for Kristin and Bryan. That was their backdrop during Hurricane Sandy, when Bryan was left without power. Just two days after meeting, their meals came from Kristin’s coolers instead of restaurants, their movies from her laptop instead of the multiplex. When the electricity returned, theirs was already flowing! The power surged this past Christmas Eve with Bryan’s proposal, and sparks will be flying this fall at their wedding in Montauk.

Jackie & Derek

June 19, 2014

Playing to Win

Games are Jackie and Derek’s passion– but not the teary kind. All that stress and strategy is strictly on-screen, the dirty work done by Super Smash Brothers or in Final Fantasy. Off-screen, calm and kindness reign for this couple, who met in the quiet of the Tarrytown library and who work as artists (Derek) and stuffed-animal and doll designers (Jackie). We took their engagement photos surrounded by wildflowers in a sun-kissed meadow: a definite fantasy, but not the final one: their wedding is set for this coming June.

Beauty and Brains

Young couples in love are always beautiful, but was this engagement party doubling as a Tommy Hilfiger shoot? The women slender, hair flowing; the men in navy blazers and pastel button-downs; the backdrop the rippling Long Island Sound. Anna Wintour was nowhere to be found, but she wasn’t missed among the 120 guests at Rye’s American Yacht Club swaying to Latin rhythms on a balmy summer’s eve. That’s the beauty part; the brains part began 3 1/2 years ago at Oxford, where the bride- and groom-to-be met while studying. Yup, we thought, guess it is possible to have it all!
